A First Generation Italian (well Sicilian to be precise) holds a deep love and intrinsic connection to the motherland that her parents, grandparents, and entire family for many many generations lived. Immigrating to the USA, her father forged a life in New London, Connecticut at the mere age of 15 (1956). Where she was born and raised until the family made their way to Santa Barbara, California. Her upbringing in an Italian immigrant household shaped her view of the world. The Italian culture and lifestyle was sown into the daily fabric of their lives and those traditions and values are present to this day. Travels to the family’s home village began at the age of 13 and continue to date every summer. It was those periods of time that set the stage for not only an identity of being an Italian but embracing the culture, lifestyle and landscape of Italy.
Angela forged a life in Santa Barbara, lovingly raising two children as well as working alongside her spouse, to grow and operate a Hair Salon, Spa and Retail Store. As the Operations and Marketing Director for their company she was successful at growing the company to being a leader in the Beauty Industry for over 25 years. Travel has been her muse since day one and Travel to Italy is her life’s joy and passion. It is a connection that runs as deep and far as her ancestors.

The Story
As an avid lover of all that is “made in Italy” and “ living life in Italy”, Angela took every opportunity to travel to Italy and discover the diversity and flavors of the many regions of the country. As fate would have it, her daughter had the same urge and deep desire to live abroad. so what began as a “Study Abroad Program to Florence, Rome and Paris” ended with her applying to John Cabot University in Rome to complete her undergraduate studies and work. She ended up living in Rome for seven years. An opportunity was born! Having her daughter abroad was the perfect storm to spend extensive periods of time living in Rome. And this is where the love affair began. Meandering the streets of Rome inspired by the art, culture, food and people set her heart and soul on fire. And this is where and how “Streets of Italy” was born. A passion she loves sharing with friends and strangers alike. Streets of Italy is a passion project for Angela. A desire to share “her Italy” with friends and strangers alike has led her to embark on this venture of creating a resource for travelers to Italy who wanted an exclusive guide to places and geography of Italy that was more than the “common” Italy tours and excursions.

Behind the photographs, reels and videos of Streets of Italy, is Claudio. As a content creator he brings his unique style, perspective and finesse to each project, turning a string of camera footage into a story in and of itself. The passion for storytelling was born from his work in Documentary Films and Shorts for the past 10 years. Italy too, holds a special place in his heart as it is also his cultural heritage. Being Italian was not only his nationality and identity, it was ingrained in every aspect of his upbringing. Taking to the streets of Italy is a project that he is not only elated to be a part of, but it also allows him to further connect with his Culture and family history while creating media that he can share with the audience, Claudio attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and now lives in Los Angeles and works wherever he is called to go.
